The mission of the bartender is to provide efficient and professional beverage service to our members and guests.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and be prompt with service to Members and their guests
  • To serve beverages in accordance to Member’s and guest desires and using The Pittsburgh Golf Club’s standards of professionalism
  • Restocking bars with appropriate supplies necessary to run an efficient bar
  • Carry dirty glasses, plates, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Assist when necessary around the club
  • Refill Member’s glasses with appropriate drinks using The Pittsburgh Golf Club’s method of service
  • Ensure that Members are correctly charges for their drinks
  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment in accordance to The Pittsburgh Golf Club’s standards
  • Attend meetings and training courses as required

Job Requirements

  • Assess Member’s needs, preferences and making recommendations, when necessary
  • Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations
  • Positive attitude, Efficient and proper communication skills
  • Ability to keep bar organized, stocked and clean
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy boxes and equipment
  • Friendly and personable with Members and guests
  • Working knowledge of ordering information systems
  • Courteous to Members and guests. (we encourage recalling names and addressing using Mr/Mrs/Ms/Dr etc.)
  • Stay Member focused and nurture an excellent Member experience
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Work with other staff as a team
  • Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and uniforms
  • Flexibility in work schedule
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays

ADA Requirements

Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time

Must be able to carry heavy trays of drinks (and food, if necessary)

Education/Experience

High school diploma is preferred. Bartending experience is an asset. The desire to serve in the Hospitality industry is necessary. Relevant Training Certifications a plus.
